Takagi Masakatsu - COIEDA
Published by elpis on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 3:20 PMJapan's Takagi Masakatsu (高木正勝) is a seasoned audio/visual pioneer whose work has been projected and played in galleries and clubs throughout Europe, the United States, and the Pacific Rim. He dabbles his talents in many various fields of art including music, video making, photography and even art paintings as well.
COIEDA is the title of Takagi Masakatsu's 2004 instrumental and jazz album. Its an album that employs extensive use of pianos and simple offtrack beats to carry out that jazzy vibe which is the essence of this album. His works are visual expression of the world around him, just as painters paint their visions and they allow us a glimpse into how Mr Takagi views his world around him.
My favourite tracks are exit/delete (vocals by Daid Sylvian), Girls, and Private Drawing. The tracks in this album are just so soothing and calm. If you're intending to listen to a great CD to chill out after a long day at work or a hectic day at school, then COIEDA is for you.
